Hummus is very good. Everyone should eat it. Its delicious, healthy, cheap, a few of my favorite things.
My previous post explains how to cook garbanzo beans. This is perfect for leftover garbanzo beans.
It works best if they have been refrigerated for a day. Take about 1 1/2 cups beans and rinse them.
Dump those into a food processor or blender. Take two cloves of garlic and cut them into small garlic pieces.
Add to beans. Add about a tablespoon of olive oil and around a tablespoon of tahini ( the butter of sesame seeds).
Add a small amount of lemon juice, like a half teaspoon.
Add a teaspoon of salt, or ground sea salt.
Add onion and garlic powder, a few dashes.
Add a tiny amount of cayenne pepper.
Blend all these ingredients until they become creamy.
Store in a container of your choice. Sprinkle a bit of garlic powder and slight amount of cayenne before it is lidded.
Enjoy it stays delicious for a good while.
Spread on bread, build some pita breads and dip them in the hummus.
